Jackie Miller’s journey from a high school dropout in Flint, Michigan, to a thought-provoking author is an example of just how extraordinary the lives of regular people can be. Raised in a loosely Catholic household by a dedicated single mother, Jack’s early life was marked by the turbulence of the counter-cultural revolution of the late 60s, filled with LSD, marijuana, and alcohol.
However, the allure of these substances eventually gave way to a deeper quest for knowledge and personal growth. Thus, he navigated through wild times, relying on his resilience and determination to overcome personal obstacles.
A defining moment of Jack’s life was when he encountered the ‘Moonies’ during a weekend retreat in New Hampshire. This experience ignited a spiritual awakening, leading him to explore profound questions about the afterlife and the love of God. This newfound spiritual journey was further complicated by his discovery of fatherhood and the subsequent responsibility it entailed.
Jack’s already turbulent life took a dramatic turn when he was arrested for smuggling 3000 pounds of marijuana. His time in prison became a period of significant change that transformed his life. Embracing a routine of daily reading, Jackie explored multiple schools of spiritual teachings, including Edgar Cayce, Buddhism, and The Urantia Book. These influences profoundly shaped his worldview and deepened his spiritual insights.
Post-incarceration, Jack’s dedication to spiritual growth and community service became stronger than ever. He became an active member of the Cub Scouts and Boy Scouts of America and was a founding member of Florida’s Students of The Urantia Book. His passion for yoga and the study of water’s enigmatic properties further enriched his understanding of the interconnectedness of life.
